This gospel style choral piece encourages love and unity by recognizing the light in all of humanity. It makes a stand for racial justice by indicating that "it has taken too long to undo the wrong of oppression...". It offers a ray of hope, envisioning the change we wish to see.
"Sunlight Washin' Over Me" - New Single - 2021 Release
composed and performed by Elisa S. Keeler
Elisa's first R&B release since 2009! The song is meant to inspire us to get outside, even when the weight of the world is on our shoulders. It's meant to invite us into the present moment, to tap the beautiful and replenishing aspects of nature. And last but not least, to remind us of our resilience and the sunlight within, even in the darkest of times.
This song was written in direct response to the death of George Floyd and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. It exists to remind us of the urgent and collective work we must do to create a more just and united society.
